The way we order food is about to look really different. I got to sit down with @DoorDash co-founder Andy Fang at their Dash Forward event, where he walked me through what I think are the biggest announcements in the company’s history: Text DoorDash: you can now order just by texting, no app needed. Tell it what you want, like “healthy dinner for the fam, nothing too spicy for my son.” It finds options, sends you food pics straight from the restaurant’s page, builds your cart, and you check out right in the thread. Ask DoorDash: the in-app version builds grocery carts 5x faster. My biggest worry was that AI would kill the fun of finding hidden gems, but nearly half of Ask DoorDash orders go to local restaurants people had never tried. Thousands of restaurants have been discovered through it so far. DoorDash Air: yes, drones. Six slow-spinning propellers built to be about as quiet as a passing car, and your order gets lowered down on a winch. They’re piloting it in Northern California with Chipotle, Popeyes, and Momo N Curry. #DoorDashPartner 

Big news for @ChatGPT! OpenAI just launched dots, always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra.  You can give a your dot a goal, and it can keep working on it in the background. Each dot has its own cloud computer and browser, can connect to the apps you choose, and can handle multiple projects at once. The part I find most exciting is that it can take initiative. A dot can notice when something needs attention, look into it, and come back with progress or a question when it needs your input. It also learns from your feedback, so it gets a better sense of how you like things done. And you can actually call your dot, which is a pretty surreal experience. Coming soon, you can also reach your dot through iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, or Teams, and it keeps the context across those conversations. You can check what it’s doing at any time and set rules for which actions need your approval. What’s the first project you’d give your dot? #ChatGPT_Partner
