Set in the green landscape of Belgian Province Limburg, Alden Biesen is a remarkable historic estate with more than 800 years of history. Originally an important commandery of the Teutonic Order, it grew into a centre of religious, political and economic influence. The castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens, each with its own character. The French Gardens feature elegant symmetry, geometric lines, trimmed hedges and colourful flowerbeds, while the English Park offers winding paths, open landscapes and romantic garden features such as the Temple of Minerva and a grotto.
